The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.
The activities may range anywhere from Republic Day Camp (RDC), Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC), National Integration Camp (NIC), Advance leadership course, Army Attachment Camp, Hiking And Trekking Camps, ThalSainik Camp (TSC), Vayu Sainik Camp(VSC), NauSainik Camp(NSC), All India Yachting Regetta (AIYR), Rock Climbing Camps (RCC), Naval Wing Activities, Air Wing Activities to Youth Exchange Programs.
NCC as its motto of Unity and Discipline was established in Vidya Knowledge Park in year 2012 with a platoon of 54 cadets under 72 UP Battalion, Meerut. As NCC is known for its aim to develop character, companionship, discipline, leadership, quest for adventure and noble service amongst the youth of the country. In this small time period the cadets of Vidya Knowledge Park have landmarked some commendable achievements, have attended camp at Saharanpur, Hastinapur etc and won over 30 medals in the various camps.
